A new malware campaign was recently discovered that leveraged the Dyre malware, also known as Dyreza, a banking trojan to target major Spanish financial institutions by launching a Remote Access Trojan, or RAT. The Dyre banking malware specifically targets user account credentials, and according to Kaspersky Lab, the malware has been stealing millions of dollars from corporate bank accounts by using a mixture of Trojans and social engineering.
Our behavioral biometric technology has been used numerous times by large banking customers to detect exactly these kinds of attacks, ultimately preventing millions of dollars’ worth of damages.
Futuristic? Perhaps, but attacks such as Dyre are growing on a daily basis. Thus, spotting malware in the act by identifying non-human behavior is today the only way to actually identify a Dyre malware attack.
